Rollback Baseline

Hi,

Does anyone have a good way of exporting a module at a specific baseline?

Lets say this module A has baseline 1.0  2.0 and 3.0 (and current version based on 3.0).

Now you need to develop a requirement based on module A baseline 2.0

Copy Baseline does not maintain Absolute Number and previous baseline 1.0 is not included.

Is there any way of exporting module A ver 2.0 with Absolute number and previous baselines??

Hello Kazuki,

I'm afraid that this is not one of the built-in features of DOORS.

Now, starting to work from an old baseline (creating a development branch from an old baseline) is one of the use cases we had in mind when implementing the "BranchManager for DOORS" (see http://it-qbase.eu/products/branchmanager-for-doors/). This product creates a 1:1 copy of the baseline you choose.

Note that it does not in fact copy all the old baselines to the new branch, instead we chose the approach to implement a branching history information and a "Compare" feature of the BranchManager that you can easily use to get all differences e.g. between the current version of the branch and one of the older baselines, either of the copied module or of the original module.

Note also that the module of new branch will have its own numbering scheme, beginning from 0.0 again, which gives a better overview if you have several branches in your database.

Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Thank you very much for you update.

I just wanted to ask everyone if there is any way. I guess archiving the module every time when baseline is created can prevent this to happen.

Hello Kazuki,

I have used the 'Duplicate Baseline' utility in the "kitchen" scripts which works well.
